5 Coffee Break Activities for Your Team

5 Coffee Break Activities for Your Team

A mid-afternoon coffee break is a shared experience across so many professions and workplaces. Level up that experience with one of these activities below (and give your team an excuse for an extended coffee break!) Whether you're working from home or back in the office, we've got ideas to for you.

1. Drink Matching

How well do you know your teammates? Do you know how they like their coffee or tea (or can you guess?)
Before the event, have one teammate compile everyone’s typical coffee or tea drink (method of brew, cream, sugar, flavorings, etc) into a list. Everyone gets the list and tries to match up the drink to the person!. This is a great team-bonding activity and you'll definitely learn a thing or two about your coworkers!

2. Show and Tell

Has your team returned to the office? Host a coffee show and tell!
Everyone takes turns sharing how they brew their coffee or tea (or their typical coffee order.) Brew an extra extra large cup during the demonstration, and let the whole team sample how you like your coffee. You can even rotate through one team member per week as a recurring activity!

3. Brew Method Exploration

One of the most interesting things about coffee is just how many ways there are to brew it. Most people haven’t tasted all of them, so take this chance to! There are so many options, you can definitely pick and choose what works for your team’s budget and office kitchen set up. Here are just a few:
  • Aeropress
  • French Press
  • Pour Over (there are many drippers, and each taste a little different - Chemex, Hario V60, Kalita Wave, just to name a few)
  • Moka Pot
  • Siphon (this one’s extra flashy and fun!)
  • Espresso
  • Cold brew
  • Pour Over Pouches (like ours!)
It might take a little research on how to brew using all these methods, but that’s part of the fun. The bonus of this activity is your office kitchen gets a big upgrade in coffee equipment, your whole office might thank you!

4. Support your local cafes

The pandemic has been hard on many businesses, but it’s hit small mom-and-pop extra hard. Make excursions with your team to local cafes - it’s a great opportunity to get outside, stretch your legs, and support local businesses!

5. Guided Coffee/Tea Tasting (hosted)

So many of us drink coffee or tea everyday, why not learn a bit more about this ubiquitous beverage?
Book this Brew Break Experience for your team! This is a virtual, guided coffee/tea tasting hosted by Teamraderie that tastes through two of our Pour Over Pouches (or two teas). It comes with a kit and the guides are super knowledgeable, so you have everything you need.
